Antique 1920-1930 Brunswick Balke Collender Arcade Pool Table with Ball Return

Was also called a Snooker Table by my father. 3 Pieces of 1.5 slate. 5′x38.5 – Reinforced with wood trim. Photos are of it in it’s current disassembled state. And when it was last assembled in 2009 before I moved it from my parents home. It was professionally disassembled and labeled in 2009 by Pro Pool Table Service in Stanhope, NJ. I never reassembled it since I wanted to renovate my basement first but I never did. With this table being apart you can see what you are getting! All rails and cushions in great shape. Green felt in good condition. All around good condition but will look great with refinishing for a better appearance. There is some peeling laminate on the bottom of some legs. Balls and accessories are NOT included. Must be moved up basement stairs. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR INFORMATION WHICH MAY APPLY TO THIS ITEM. IT IS THE LISTING FROM THE CATALOG FROM THAT ERA. From the Billiard Table Catalogue 1922 & 1923. Carom, pocket or combination. 10′ table weights 200 pounds less than listed if furnished with only four legs. Carried in stock and can be furnished either with four or six legs-we recommend four legs only for the 4 ½ x 9 size. This magnificent design marks a new era in the highest class of billiard table construction and ornamentation. The severely plain in furniture, is now giving way to the lighter and more artistic coloring effects of inlaid decorations. Stock Sizes: 4 ½ x 9′ at 2,265 pounds and 5 x 10′ at 2,760 pounds. Wood and finish: Beautifully figured mahogany rubbed and polished. After being given the ordinary cabinet finish it is hand rubbed to a dull polish. White and black holly and pearl inlay. Construction: This table has what is known in our factory as the Jumbo framework which means that it is unusually heavy and substantial. Top molding, 8 12″ x 3 3/8″. Sub-frame, 1 34″ x 12 34″ total frame, 16 1/8. The ornamental blocks have a projection of 5 7/8″ x 4 7/8″ and 3 in. The sides are compound construction, being tongued and grooved and glued. Double veneered outside and inside. Cross stretchers 1 34″ thick 6 12 x 47″, bolted to reinforcing blocks, making a rigid bridgework. End stretchers 1 34″ thick x 4 12″. Legs 12 in square at bottom x 9″ at top, capped by 3 3/8″ thick x 5 square block, bringing them flush with the top of the frame, to which they are secured by bolts and screws. They are built up in compound construction, tongued and grooved, doweled and reinforced by corner blocks, double cross veneered inside and outside and rigidly built in a most thorough manner. All joints made close and secure and all mitres absolutely accurate. Joints tongued and grooved, strongly doweled and glued firmly together. All corners and edges made perfectly smooth and true. Cushion Rails: Compound construction 5 x 1 5/8″, with facing 4 1/8″ x ½ thick, built up with various kinds of hardwoods of different grain to insure strength and prevent its being affected by climatic conditions. Invisible cushion bolts covered by what is known as Blind Cushion Rails, built up in 6-ply material placed in an alternate run of grain with fancy figured veneer on the exterior. Inlaid with white and black holly. Cap rails ¾” thick x 2 ¾” Rosewood top 3/16 thick. Inlaid metal fancy nameplate. Eight rail bolts on each side and four on each end of the 4 1/2′ x 9′ table, and ten on each side and five on each end of the 5′ x 10′ table. Slate Bed: Best quality slate, three pieces to the set. All joints secured with brass dowels and sockets. No screw holes on playing surface. Regulation slate 1 thick. Reinforced with wood frame. If desired, 1 ½ slate can be furnished. Hardwood trim at pocket openings. The Cushions: The cushions furnished with this table, unless otherwise specified, are our celebrated Match Game perfect angle. These are made in our own rubber factory at Muskegon, Michigan, from a secret formula used exclusively by us. Our guarantee as to their accuracy of angle, speed and durability is evidenced by the name plate countersunk in the top of the cushion rail. Pocket Irons: The pocket irons are our No. 6 style, which are countersunk in the ends of the cushion rails by means of a brass socket. The black cover leathers are reinforced at the point of contact, giving extra durability.
