Weathered finishes are achieved by applying semi-transparent stains over a base color on natural wood to create an overtone color range. Finished wood that has naturally weathered outdoors will have varying degrees of intensity within the color range, however, no two boards will be the same. Grain density and lighting will also be a factor on how color is viewed depending upon the grain direction. This effect is by design and the images presented depict the overtone range for each weather color offered. The unique characteristics in grain patterns and color of natural wood, combined with the hand staining process, achieves the old weathered wood design concept of Playcraft weathered game tables. This is an amazing pool table rich with New Mexico history. This Brunswick Balke Collender Company pocket billiards table is in great condition, ready to be played on for generations to come. We would love it if it went to a collector or someone who will enjoy it as much as we have. It comes with so many “extras” – such as the extra set of ivory playing balls (yeah, can’t get THESE anywhere anymore), along with the pool stick stand loaded with plenty of the original oak sticks as well as a few recent models! , the cheater stick and the ball rack… The table has thick slate pieces (which are easily removed for transport) and the felt, while still quite playable, has one nick in it. The Mother Of Pearl inlay in the bumper rails compliments the red wood nicely… Finally, it is 9.5 feet long and 5 feet wide, standing at just under 3 feet tall. If you are ready for a piece of NM History in your home this table is ready for you! The table provided a great deal of enjoyment by our family from 1955 through 2007 when it moved into storage in Santa Fe. The table is extremely sturdy, made of rich mahogany wood, has an extremely thick slate, mother of pearl markers on the rails – and has runways underneath the table to collect the balls that get sunk into the leather pockets. New felt was installed on the table many years ago. Professionals exist that can disassemble, transport, and reassemble in a new location.
