Antique Passow 4 1/2 X 9 Brunswick Golden Oak Wellington Billiards Pool Table
We have a Chas Passow & Sons Chicago Illinois / Brunswick 4 1/2 X 9 billiards table for sale. This seems to be the Wellington model. It is marked 30574 on the frame under the bumper rail and also on the supporting cross members underneath. It shows Chas Passow & Sons is the builder, and it has the Monarch Brunswick Balke Collendor & Co. Metal tag on the end rail. I see there was a lawsuit filed by Brunswick in 1913 that claimed Passow was copying their style, and this is a Wellington style, So, This puts this table between the late 1890’s and 1913. The bed is a 3 piece Vermont slate set up, They are solid and are free from any cracks or divots, In it’s previous life, somebody thought it would be a good idea to paint the table. We did clean up the rails a little bit and found some excellent grain in the Golden Oak that can be restored. The base is solid and seems original (other than the paint). The felt is plenty worn and needs replaced. I do not see any structure issues that would stop this from becoming what it once was. I think this table is about 1250 pounds total, we have some man power available to assist in loading it after it is broke down, unless you have a better plan.
