Bernard Antique Pool Table, 8.5 Foot (46X92 Surface). Conservatively restored in Iowa 18 years ago by a lifetime antique billiards restorer and dealer, the table still has some old cigarette burns in the wood. The rails are solid with excellent rebound. This table would sell for 35,000 at Blate Billiards, one of the premiere billiards dealers, designers, and manufacturers in the world. Table can be professionally taken apart and set up anywhere. This is as arts and crafts as you can get. Gorgeous quarter sawn oak with all the bells and whistles. Table was one of the best ever produced by this Midwest company about 1920 to compete with Brunswick and their domination of the billiard world at that time. The wood is fabulous and the legs are solid qtr sawn oak and not veneered like the Brunswicks. Slates are 1 1/2 thick and table can be delivered before Christmas. Not many of these were made and very few remain in existence. Rails are walnut and there is virtually nothing negative about this table. Was in a private home for nearly 90 years until I acquired it and simply freshened it up. Almost no restoration necessary except new pockets and a new finish. Still needs new cushions but otherwise can be ready to go very soon. Schaaf Mfg is the company and they lasted until about 1960. They made some very high quality tables that were mostly knock offs of Brunswick’s many styles. Table needs to go into a ground level location because it is so heavy. You get the cloth of your choice and I have a wonderful Mission cue holder that would match well with this beauty if interested. 30 years doing this and perfect feedback. This table had patents between 1892 to 1905 which means that it was produced in that era. This table has been conservatively restored keeping at least 90% of all the original wood veneer on the table all repairs have been blended in with the original table, as per our mission statement on the restoration of old tables. One of the things in restoration over refinishing is that we work hard at keeping as much original as possible and it also means that we may not take out all the blemishes after all it is over 100 years old. This table is well built and very sturdy in a style and roughness that you find hard to get today. The slate is 1 1/2 inches thick, it is the best quality Vermont slate, and the pockets have been re-leathered on the original irons. The rails are solid and are mounted to the slate through captured nuts in the slate giving you mounting and excellent rebound on your rails. The rail caps are of solid rosewood which does not change color. Brunswick used Brazil rosewood which is very hard to find today and very expensive which is why you do not see it used on tables any more. New Brunswick Superspeed cushions have been installed and the table would come with Simonis cloth, color of your choice. Without contacting us first may cancel sale. Bernard mission style 9′ pool table. Bernard mission style 9′ pool. Table, four legged model, with three-piece one-inch thick slate. Replaced rail cushions, felt, and re-leathered pocket irons.

Swing-out chalk holders are mounted under the rails as well as two hooks. This table at one time had a ball return mechanism. The ball return chutes were removed and retained (see the last image) and the pocket irons fitted with new drop pockets.
