Some Early History Details. The Thurston furniture business started in 1799 in premises in Newcastle Street in the Strand. However Business for billiards tables in the early 1820s were now taking over their productions, so the company moved to 16 Catherine Street, The Strand and with their’ Manufacturing’ at the Waterloo Billiard Works, Cheyne Walk, Chelsea, London. They now specialised in billiards tables and billiard room furniture.
