Restored 1890’s 9′ Brunswick Monarch Antique Pool Table BBC’s masterwork

The 1890’s era table was beautifully restored and its famous cast iron lion legs masterfully painted in black with gold accents. The table includes an appraisal by Joe Newell, the official Burnswick historian, done in 2015. All major frame pieces have matching BBC serial numbers, with a flawless restoration of the inlaid wood cabinet. As with most complete antique billiard restorations, some parts have been replaced. The replaced pieces are likely the bottom skirt finials, the bolt covers, and the name plate. The rail tops are also likely replacements or salvaged from another antique table, as they are simply too smooth and flawless for the age of the table. However, the underside of the rails all have the matching BBC serial numbers. Accurate reproductions of the bolt covers and name plate are easily available should you desire to replace them, although the ones on the table are consistent with a Victorian style table. The felt is a heavy, high quality green in excellent condition, although most choose to replace the cloth in a move because of the difficulty in preserving the cloth during disassembly. The inlays contain the exotic woods Monarchs and other fine Victorian tables are known for. Pocket irons are antique type, replated on the ends, with a high quality leather covering in the pocket seat. The table plays very well, with a deliberate, controlled feel appropriate to its quality, size, and era. The cushions are in excellent shape. The famous leveling system on a Monarch ensures a level table when properly installed.
