This is a nice, 1890 Brunswick antique table that was produced for the family that wanted simplicity without the glitz and glamor of a fancy inlaid table from that era. Quarter sawn oak veneer and oak rails with real 1800’s ivory rail sights. All original with matching numbers on all the parts. Pockets are also original but new leather was used on the original irons. You should see the slates on this table. Like new but original. Looks like the table has only been re-felted once in 125 years. In the same family since it was new and that spans 4 generations of very gentle use. Measures 46 by 92 playing surface which means this is what is called a’pro 8′ size’. Another term is oversized 8 foot but it is kind of a between size and the most desirable for home use. The table is shown as it was in the home I got it from and I need to do a little work to bring it up to 100% before I can deliver it but can be ready to go right after Christmas rush. I can deliver in person but will need local billiard company to assist in installation as my age has resulted in a little clumsiness and I just make it a practice to no longer set up tables. That is the law so be prepared to factor that in. I can provide some of the accessories for FREE to help with the cost. This table has 3 slates that are 1 thick. Table will look like brand new when set up in your home and will last another 100 years. Can’t say that about modern tables. Can’t be done. 10 years from now it will still be worth at least what you pay for it and it will be a family heirloom for generations to come just like it has been for the family that just parted with it. This is a pretty rare table from about 1890 or so. Made by a Twin Cities company, Koehler and Hinrichs, who made bars, bowling equipment and pool tables more than 100 years ago. Nicely restored, it has quarter sawn oak veneer and regular oak veneer on most of the cabinet. Rails are rosewood and pockets are new. Worsted wool green cloth and in a user friendly 8′ size. Comes with cues and balls and this table is priced way below market just to help clear space for an excess of inventory. Good opportunity to get a quality heirloom at used table prices. Value will never go down at the price and the beauty is never going out of style. The model is very similar to several Brunswick models from the same era. The Challenger, the Delaware, the Universal are all very close cousins of this table. Won’t last long. I’ve been restoring tables for nearly 30 years and work in Duluth, Mn. This is an 8 foot Brunswick table called the’Popular’. The primary wood veneer is burl ash or burl elm. Has inlays of rosewood and the rails are rosewood with real ivory rail sights. Table was made in the 1880’s and all the parts are original except the pockets are reproductions. This table has been restored but it isn’t perfect. You have to look really close to notice but some of the veneer that was missing was filled it and sanded smooth and stained and finished to match. It is preferred to actually replace the veneer with veneer but in this case that was not done. Only shows in a couple of places and even then it is hard to notice. I just felt the need to disclose that. This table features very fancy skirts on the lower part of the table and these are almost always missing on tables from this era. Rails are absolutely perfect as are the slates and pockets. I have quite a few tables listed and quite a few other tables that are waiting to be restored. Lots of good choices and price ranges.
