Diamond 7 ft Pro-Am Pool Table
Many professional tournaments are played on Diamond Pro-Ams. In the fall of 2014 the cushions (Diamond K55 profile) were replaced and the Simonis 860 gray cloth was installed. Overall, I would grade the condition of this table as very good if not excellent. The pockets are 4 3/4 width…. Not the 4 1/2 pro cut pockets. IMO it’s the perfect table for “league players” to enjoy and improve their game. For the higher skilled player that may prefer the tighter pro cut pockets, a table mechanic can easily shim the pockets to 4 1/2 width. It has been about three years since Diamond Billiards made any tables with the Dymondwood material. The Dymondwood supplier’s factory burnt to the ground and has not rebuilt and I’ve heard has no plans to rebuild. Most tables made by Diamond the last few years have been made with a phenolic resin composite material (most often stained black). Only exceptions have been special orders for real wood… So, with no more tables being made with Dymondwood, used Diamond Pro-Ams with Dymondwood have become harder to find. The newer PRC material may not be lesser quality as it is also dent and burn resistant but it does not have the beautiful wood grain look that comes with Dymondwood. There is no comparison. I got this table used and did not know at the time when it was built. I called Diamond Billiards, gave them the serial # and their records show the build date for this table – 2/29/2004.
