1890’s Antique Brunswick Balke Collender Billiard Pool Table in Quarter Sawn Oak. This is the 4 legged model with 3 section slates that are 1.5 inches thick each. The rail tops are of Brazilian Rosewood with fantastic color depth to them, with real 1800’s pearl rail sights!! Carved florals at the feet of each leg and sweeping lines from the floor all the way to the rails. Only the lucky few had a vintage quality billiard table in its day like this. Quartersawn oak- pfister model – this one is the six leg model. Has newer felt – and the leather bag balls are also newer. Barrel cavity & legs could use a good polish. Original Quartersawn oak pool cue rack will go along with the table. Table has been moved from the hall it was photographed in. Skates need to be reset & the felt needs to be laid down. Original in a Knights of Columbus hall in north central CT. Will need to be picked up in Vernon CT. I will have more pics in a few days but putting some early thumbnails out for consideration. Just had this table consigned to me for resale and boy is it a beauty. Longtime executive moving to smaller home and no room for this classic Brunswick’Pfister’ model from the 1890’s. This is a full size 9 footer in African ribbon mahogany and finished in a gloss lacquer by well known restoration company a few years ago. Hardly used over the past 10 years and needs nothing but a new home that will appreciate a table of this quality. Carved florals at the feet of each leg and sweeping lines from the floor all the way to the rails in an engineering and design masterpiece. This body style was used in two other classic Brunswick models and remained popular for 30 years in the early 20th century. The finest homes of the day were host to tables of this vintage and quality. Now it will reside in a modern home styled for the era and this table will fit any type of decor. 1 inch slate in three pieces. Some of these models were 6 legged versions with 1 1/2 thick slate. Thankfully, this is the 4 legged version. I will deliver this table anywhere in the USA or have it delivered by professional billiard mechanic for proper installation. This beautifully professionally restored quartersawn oak pool table is from the early 1900s. It is 4.5′ x 9′ with the original nameplate. The slate is 57 x 107 x 1 and the cloth is dark green. The pockets are antique brown with complementary fringe. The accessories include a short Cheyenne cue rack with four 2-piece cues in assorted weights, a bridge stick, a wooden triangle, a nine ball rack, box spruce chalk and BCA rule book. It also has a table cover and has been covered the majority of time. The “Pfister” was part of a family of tables produced by alke-C. Llender distinctive for their serpentine leg and ogee curve cabinets. The “Pfister” retained the Victorian love for detail and embellishment with its carving. This table represented the highest quality of construction, with a massively heavy cabinet, and quarter-panel construction double-bolted at all eight joints. The design was very innovative and a clear break from the Victorian style in that the legs went all the way up and were integrated into the cabinet. These serpentine leg tables are among the most sculptural of antique pool tables, managing to be massive, powerful and graceful at the same time. This pool table is located in McMinnville, Oregon.
