This Brunswick pool table is an excellent example of an antique table. As you can see from the photos it is in excellent condition. It has been in our family since 1990 and has been exceptionally cared for. There is no known restoration and certainly no evidence of major (or minor for that matter) restoration. The table was authenticated by Brunswick in 1993 (see letter). You will simply not find a better quality table unless you are looking for a recent complete restoration. This table is an example of a 4.5ft x 9ft Narragansett model. However, as was common during this time period, it was customized with more detail work on the legs. It is also similar to the York and the Union League models from Brunswick. Here are the facts about this table: 1 It has been. The original letter will be included with the sale. 2 The table has. On all visible parts. This means that no components of the table were replaced or switched. Also, the serial number is a five-digit serial number. This means that the table was without a doubt manufactured before 1890. 3 It is a highly desirable. This indicates without a doubt that the table was manufactured before 1900, as Brunswick switched to a three-piece slate starting in 1900. The four piece slate models are much more rare. Name plate is original. There is no evidence of replacement in the wood surrounding the plate. This is a great attribute for a table of this age. Legs are original and in excellent condition. It is not unusual to see significant wear at the bottom of the leg or for the legs to be replaced alltogether. This is because if the table was in a bar or pool hall, it was subject to getting wet at the bottom of the legs due to spillage. I have been told that this particular table appears to have been only for home use. Currently set-up and playable. If you are looking at comparable tables online, be wary of those that are in storage or in pieces. More often than not, when you go to put them back together you will be inevitably missing pieces. Original disassembly tool is included. This is a genuine Brunswick tool and is believed to be original to this exact table. It is not a reproduction. These are very rare. Cherished and cared for. We feel that it deserves to be played-on. Also available are a matching three-piece Brunswick rack and antique light fixture. The rack was custom made by Brunswick in 1995 to match the table. It was created as part of a limited run of 1,000 pieces to commemorate Brunswick’s 150th anniversary. The antique balls, racks, and cues are available as well.
