The carved eagles bearing the shield of the Republic and thirteen stars combined with the extensive use of exotic wood inlays make this billiard table a true museum piece. Nearly one hundred and fifty years after its creation, this extraordinary billiard table remains a unique and historically important artifact of a young United States of America. The table appears to be Brazilian Rosewood background likely with satin wood inlays and it was likely produced in the 1880s through 1890s. It is a 4 piece slate and there might be a few very minor nicks in the wood but you have to look hard to find them.
